About Us
As ministries adapted to a rapidly changing world, one challenge became clear: many churches were faithfully serving their congregations, but their online audio didn't reflect what God was doing in the room.

Founded by Nick Rector, Hillside Sound grew out of a unique combination of worship leadership, pastoral ministry, music production, and professional audio experience. What began as helping a handful of churches quickly grew into serving ministries across the country and around the world.

Long before remote mixing became an industry, Hillside Sound was pioneering remote audio mixing for churches and helping develop the systems, workflows, and standards that made large-scale remote mixing possible.

Today, our team mixes thousands of church services every year and serves churches of every size and denomination. While many companies now offer similar services, our mission remains unchanged: to serve the local church with excellence, consistency, and care.
OUR STORY
Hillside Sound was born during the COVID-19 pandemic when churches suddenly found themselves ministering online in ways they never had before.

Long before David was known as a king, a warrior, or a leader of a nation, he was a shepherd faithfully serving God on a hillside. It was there—in obscurity—that his worship, character, and calling were formed.
That picture has shaped the heart behind Hillside Sound from the very beginning.
We believe there are still Davids on the hillsides today. They are pastors faithfully serving small congregations, worship leaders pouring themselves out week after week, production volunteers doing their best with limited resources, church plants taking their first steps, and ministries serving their communities with faithfulness and humility.
Many of these churches may never be known by the world, but they are deeply known and loved by God.
Hillside Sound exists to serve those churches.
Everything we do is driven by a desire to strengthen the local church, remove distractions, support ministry leaders, and help the message of Jesus be heard as clearly as possible. That's why we're called Hillside Sound.
We believe excellence and authenticity belong together. We operate as a ministry partner to the local church first.
Everything we do is driven by the belief that technology is a tool for ministry. When used well, it removes distractions, creates connection, and helps people focus on what matters most: encountering Jesus.
We believe every church—regardless of size—deserves the support, expertise, and tools needed to effectively reach people both in the room and online. That's the heart of Hillside Sound.

Whether someone is sitting in the room or joining online, clear and distraction-free audio helps them engage with worship, hear the message, and participate in what God is doing. Great audio shouldn't draw attention to itself—it should remove distractions and help people focus on encountering Jesus and hearing His Word.
